Magico Abruzzo
Study Abroad + Summer 2024 + ACS5550
This project, titled Magico Abruzzo, is an academic endeavor I completed during my study abroad program in Abruzzo, Italy, in the summer of 2024. I lived in Abruzzo for a month, where I took an Italian course and a design course, learning basic Italian. As a culmination of my experience, I created a simple interactive website using Figma and photoshop, which includes a landing page, a gallery page, and an about page.
The website serves as an archive where users can explore the rich history, culture, and natural beauty of Abruzzo. It features stunning locations such as Rocca Calascio, Borgo Universo, Roccascalegna, and Gole di San Martino, among others. Through this project, I aimed to encapsulate the enchanting stories, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant traditions of this timeless Italian region.

COLORS
In designing the website for my project "Magico Abruzzo," I used colors drawn directly from the images, aiming to create an earthy vibe that reflects my experience of living surrounded by nature during my time in Abruzzo. The natural tones and elements bring the beauty of the region to life on the website, enhancing the immersive experience for users.
TYPOGRAPHY
For the website's design, I selected the Modish font for the title "Magico Abruzzo" because, during my research into the fonts commonly used in Abruzzo, I noticed that most titles and logos were cursive font, and Modish closely matched that style. For the rest of the content, I used Lato font, a sans-serif typeface, because it provides simplicity, legibility, and a clean look—ideal for an archive website where clarity and ease of understanding are key.
